MonumentCity.org goes live!
We just launched the MonumentCity.org website, where we are geotagging historic civic monuments, memorials and markers around the City of Baltimore, Maryland. Currently documented there are three new monuments with history, location data and additional information:
You can also view our full photo collection on Flickr, or on Panoramio which has some excellent mapping functionality. This site, MonumentCity.net will become our research space for gathering links, quotations and other interesting information related to the Monument City project. Enjoy!
PS. Within the next few weeks, we’ll also be releasing a call for submissions from artists and musicians local to Baltimore to create monument-themed work. More information coming soon!
