It may be by the same Schuler, but I'm not sure. I've never heard of any wood-carved pieces by him but it could very well be. His son Hans Schuler, jr. was also a sculptor. Do you know the year?

I recently acquired a wood carving that is very old and of very intricate design. It depicts what I think is the Louis and Clark expedition. It is a beautiful peice with a Mountain in the middle .. on one side there is an indian village on the other a settler and indian scout and settler followed by a covered wagon are coming around the mountain ... The scout is pointinf west. .. it is very detailed. In the right bottom corner it is signed Schuler. It is covered with a 1/4 inch peice of glass and has been beautifully perserved. I live in Ohio. It belonged to a neighbor who just recently passed away before that it belonged to his Mother. I have no idea how long she had it but I remember seeing it as a child of 5. She was very protective of this piece of Art and said it was important. Could this be the same Schuler?
